MYKONOS, GREECE – Mykonos is located in the Cyclades, a series of Greek islands centered on the once-thriving isle of Delos which was considered to be Apollo’s birthplace in antiquity. How to get to Mykonos?
Throughout the year, flights to Athens and other Greek islands and cities are scheduled, and during the summer, low-cost airlines and charter airlines offer regular flights to practically any major European city.
From April to October, the airport is a bustling transportation hub, with flights linking Mykonos to destinations like London, Manchester, Berlin, Paris, and many other European centers.
A more traditional way to travel to Mykonos is by boat. There are regular services from Athens, with journey lasting 3 to 5 hours depending on the ship and weather conditions.
Throughout the summer there are further connections to surrounding islands such as Paros and Naxos, as well as to other tourist destinations such as Santorini.
Mykonos climate
Mykonos has hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. During the summer season there is often a strong north wind, which makes it feel a little cooler. Temperatures range from 13 °C (55 °F) in winter to 27 °C (81 °F) in summer.
Best time to visit Mykonos
Mykonos offers fantastic weather throughout the tourist season. The highest temperatures occur between June and August, when visitor numbers peak.

Getting around Mykonos

Chora

Half-Day Highlights of Mykonos Tour
” This tour was a great way to see a large portion of Mykonos island in just a few hours. We started by driving to the Lighthouse and then to Ano Mera and Kalafati Beach, with Lucy describing the history and culture of Mykonos the entire way. The stop in Ano Mera was long enough to grab a coffee/pastry at the local shops. Most other stops were 5-15 minutes for photo opportunities”
