Hire a kayak at Queens wharf and go exploring, join the locals for a stroll along Oriental Bay than relax at an alfresco cafe or explore the capitals charming seaside suburbs at Roseneath, Karaka Bay, Evans Bay, Seatoun, Southgate and history fishing village of Island bay.

The suburbs of Karori Sanctuary experience offers peaceful bushbox and native wildlife. 

Heading into the Hutt Valley, the cities of Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt have a lovely riverside setting surrounded by bush – clad hills. Visitors can enjoy the shops and cafes, golf courses, parks and Riverside walkways. There is trout fishing in the Hutt river or head into the rugged Rimutaka Ranges for a bushwalk. 

The Capital’s northern gateway is the diverse Kapiti- Horowhenua region. Paraparaumu, Kapiti’s  largest centre, has a world-class golf course and a popular vintage car museum. The beautiful beach at Paraparaumu is ideal for swimming, surfing and boating while, offshore, the renowned bird sanctuary of Kapiti Island is great for birdlife.
